Outdoor Spring Wedding in Scarborough, Maine

Kasey and Alex wanted their wedding day to include everyone they loved. They brought together family and friends across the US, from childhood to college. Celebrating at Flaherty’s Family Farm in Scarborough, their wedding was full of stories from the people who knew them best at all stages of life.

The ceremony took place in backwoods of the farm property. Nestled in a small grove of trees, their guests watched as Kasey and Alex exchanged vows. Just as they began, the May rains started in and the umbrellas popped open. It would not be spring in Maine without these rainy lush days! Kasey, Alex, and their 100+ guests embraced the storm, before making their way into the barn.

“My wife fortunately found Alyssa online after searching high and low for a wedding photographer, and we believe it was the best thing that happened for our special day. From day one of contacting Alyssa, it was evident that she was extraordinarily empathetic and caring. She immediately wanted to get to know about us and understand our story so she could capture the emotion and beauty of our wedding…It was this level of detail and care that made a tremendous impact on us and allowed her to truly capture the essence of our love.” - Alex & Kasey

Everyone was treated to amazing food from two food trucks - High Roller Lobster Co. and Tacos del Seoul - as the speeches and toasts began in the tent. We were regaled with stories of Kasey and Alex’s childhood and their first meeting at college. Their day was intentionally designed to celebrate all of the individuals who contributed to their lives and love story.

“On the day of the wedding, Alyssa went above and beyond in the pouring rain to capture all of the best shots at great sacrifice to her own comfort while smiling the whole time….The few sample shots we have seen after just one short week are nothing short of perfect and will be some of our most cherished photographs for life. We told her if those were the only pictures from the weekend we would be happy - and we mean it. The best part of the day was how little time we spent taking portraits as we simply trusted her and her husband to capture the beauty of the moment with their documentary style approach. Our wedding day simply would not have been as amazing as it was without the help of Alyssa. She was kind, helpful, and most importantly, had a clear artistic vision which allowed my wife and I to enjoy the majority of our time with our best friends and loved ones without fear of missing out on capturing some beautiful photos.” - Alex & Kasey
