Family Photography at Home in Rockland Maine

Anna reached out while in the midst of purchasing a new home. They had outgrown their space, but did not want to forgot all of the work they had done to create a home with their one-year old. Since moving in, they had renovated the space to suit their needs, with so many personal details crafted into the home. The garden was also in it’s late summer bloom, with coneflowers lining the path to the yard. We spent a late afternoon together in their favorite spots both inside and outside of the house. This session is one of my favorites. In part because of the colorful personality of the interiors and the beautiful flowers outside. But mostly because this session was slow-paced. Everything felt really natural and the photographs show that. Because the family was relaxed and trusted the process, they could take their time just being themselves together all while letting their one-year old explore and guide us through. It’s great to have some activity ideas in your back pocket for your session, but other times just allowing yourself to go with the flow and embrace the chaos of it all and lead to some pretty special photographs.
