Creating art for the sentimental souls

I’m a Maine-based film photographer, who loves to document everyday moments and human connection. I believe there is magic in the ordinary that demands to be seen. Much of my work comes from a place of childhood wonder, and a commitment to showcasing real & diverse family life.

I specialize in family, branding, and wedding photography. Want to photograph a lazy Sunday morning making breakfast, a trip to the beach in the summer with the cousins, or an evening neighborhood stroll and storytime? I will be there to document those little and big moments that make your life yours!

Do you wish you had photographs that really felt like you? Are you a memory keeper, always looking to preserve the everyday moments that make up your life? Do you crave a unique photography experience for your family that involves making art of your everyday?

I’m here to create photographs that are meant to be printed. That future generations will fight over. Photographs that are true to who you are - laid back & made with an empathetic eye. You will walk away with photographs that tell a story of the beauty already inherent in your life.

Are you ready to tell your story?

My philosophy.

Photographs tell the stories of our lives, serving as proof for us and future generations. Proof that we lived a life injected with magic, love, emotion, and art.

Photographs that will be both timeless and nostalgic. Photographs that can hang on your wall as art. Memories that can be kept in a scrapbook and
cherished for a lifetime

A little about my process

Using 35mm and medium format film, I am drawn to the power of photography for storytelling. My favorite subjects include: mothers and kids, artists and creatives, and the Maine coastline. I create art that captures imperfect, authentic moments in time that tell your story. Photos that will be loved for years to come. To read more me and my process see here.

The details

  • When you inquire with me, we will work together to pick a date that works for you. I can work around naptimes, activities, and events. Depending on your ideas and availability, we can find the best time that works for you. For outdoor sessions, I typically suggest early morning (before 11am), or afternoon times in the hours leading up to sunset.

  • When we collaborate about the session details, we will pick a location! Every session is unique, I want the session to not only create beautiful photos for your family, but I also want your family to have fun and enjoy the experience! We can brainstorm locations that are special to you and your loved ones – whether that’s your favorite beach, mountain, local diner, or home. I am located in Bath, Maine, but willing to travel. For locations further than 80 miles from Bath, I will charge  an additional travel cost.

  • There is something incredibly magical about film. When I load a 35mm roll of film into my camera, I have 36 opportunities to make art. Each shutter exposes the film to light, creating an impression of the image I see through my lens. In doing so, I am transposing human connection onto a thin piece of plastic, taking part in an extroadinary reaction.

I particularly like to capture childhood on film given it’s both timeless and nostalgic quality. From an aesethic standpoint, the colors of film are unmatched compared to digital. From a process standpoint, film forces me to slow down, and in doing so, capture moments more intentionally. What this means for you is intimate unexpected moments captured on a timeless medium.

With film there is a degree of chaos, uncertainty, and imperfection. When you take part in a film session there will be creativity, beauty, and unanticipated magic!

  • I am a documentary photographer, meaning I do not want to interfere with the natural flow of your life. I'd much rather meet you where you are take perfectly imperfect photographs.

This means I will not pose you - while I may give you some prompts, I'm much more interested in sitting back and seeing where the moment takes us. Often, for family sessions we will plan an activity and I will be able to document you all doing something you enjoy and that puts you at ease.
