Maine senior photographer
Natural laid back senior photography on film
Is it time to rethink traditional senior photos? At 18, off on a new adventure - your photographs can be an opportunity to freeze this moment of transition. To document you at home, surrounded by all of the things that make you you. In your room that will inevitably transform in the next 4 years. With your parents, siblings, family, pets. As a Maine senior photographer, my approach is rooted in documenting you in your real life. Natural, laid back portraits that are authentic.
Photographs that you will actually want to look back on in 10, 20, 50 years from now. Photographs that are your own, that celebrate where you are in your life. I realize it can be hard to do something different - but for those that want to try, I’m here for it!
Prices starting at $750
Alternative, creative senior photography on film
Let’s make unique senior photographs that actually feel like YOU. Photographs that stand out from your friends and peers, photographs on old school analog film, photographs that you will actually want to look at you after they’ve been sent to the yearbook.
MAINE SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
Non-traditional senior photography on film
I still remember my senior photography session. My grandfather drove me over to a photo studio. What I received was a cookie-cutter version of my 18 year-old self. And while those photographs ended up in the yearbook, I never look back on them today. What I really wish now - as someone who just entered their 30s - is that I had photographs of me in my everyday clothes, with my mom, and my childhood cat. That there were photographs in the place I called home for 18 years. A real snapshot of my everyday life, not some airbrushed version of it. So that is what I hope to create for others through these senior sessions.
I’m a Maine-based senior photographer, who lives with my husband and cat in the Midcoast. I grew up with film cameras passed down from my grandmother and continue to be in love with all things analog. When I’m not taking photographs I love to try new creative hobbies, spend time in the garden, hike, and sew my own clothes.
What makes my senior photography approach different?
These senior sessions are for the nostalgic souls. The ones that are not afraid to do their own thing. And, yes, senior photos in a field of lupines at sunset can be beautiful; but why not stand out from the crowd and create photographs that actually look like and feel like you.
As a Maine senior photographer I travel throughout the state (and beyond) creating visual stories of the everyday. My approach is grounded in empathy and intentionality - creating non-traditional senior photographs on analog film that celebrate your unique story.
What a senior session looks like:
Send me a message
First, send me a message here. Write a bit about yourself and I will email you back ASAP to work out all the details - we’ll pick a date/time. In the lead up to our sessions I’ll be in touch to confirm and make sure you’re feeling comfortable.
We create art together
I’ll come to your home, meet your family, and we’ll create photographs together over the course of about 90 minutes. No need to worry about stiff poses or smiling at the camera awkwardly. We’ll take some photos in your room, around the house, and even outside if you like (with & without your family + pets)!
You get your photos!
In a few weeks time, I’ll email a link to a full gallery of photos you can download, print, and share everywhere. The online gallery will contain 30+ digitized film photographs from our time together.
Why not go against the grain and do something unique? Create something whose purpose goes beyond the social media grid and yearbook.
